Red Bull Revamps Technical Team to Boost Performance

In a bid to refocus on performance and innovation, Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes to its technical department. Ben Waterhouse, a veteran team member since 2017 and previously head of performance engineering, has been promoted to chief performance and design engineer, assuming an expanded leadership role under technical director Pierre Wache. Waterhouse's new position will oversee both design and vehicle performance, aiming to enhance the integration of these areas and accelerate the development of high-performing solutions. Additionally, Andrea Landi will join the team on July 1 as head of performance, transitioning from Racing Bulls where he served as deputy technical director. Landi, who has also worked with Ferrari, will report to Waterhouse. This strategic move is part of Red Bull's long-term technical vision, emphasizing the development of internal talent while attracting top expertise from the sport. The team has faced a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, and has experienced the departure of key staff members to rival teams in recent years. The upcoming Miami Grand Prix on May 1-3 marks the season's second Sprint weekend, broadcast live on Sky Sports F1.
