American golfer Bryson DeChambeau has pulled out of the LIV Golf Mexico City event before the final round, citing a wrist injury. DeChambeau, who has won two LIV Golf tournaments this season, was 16 strokes behind leader Jon Rahm after the third round.
He stated, 'I felt some discomfort in my wrist during the previous round, so I've decided to withdraw from the final round to avoid further injury.' DeChambeau's withdrawal comes at a time when the LIV Golf League is facing significant scrutiny over its financial future, following reports that the Saudi Public Investment Fund may end its support. Despite this, LIV Golf CEO Scott O'Neil has said the league is 'funded through the season' and will work to secure its future beyond that. DeChambeau is set to participate in the upcoming LIV Golf Virginia event and the PGA Championship.
