Fitzpatrick Takes the Lead After Round Two of the RBC Heritage
Matt Fitzpatrick has taken the top spot on the leaderboard after the second round of the RBC Heritage, finishing with a one-stroke lead after achieving an impressive eight-under-par 63. The English golfer had a flawless round, making eight birdies and sinking a remarkable 36-foot putt on the 15th hole. Following an opening round of 65, which put him in a six-way tie for third, Fitzpatrick began Friday strong. Now, the 2022 US Open champion is in the lead with 14 under par at the halfway point. Norway's Viktor Hovland is in second place, just one stroke behind, after scoring 65 in the second round. Overnight leader Ludvig Aberg fell to joint fourth after encountering three bogeys on the back nine. Scotland's Robert MacIntyre is six shots behind Fitzpatrick after scoring 68, while the world's number one golfer, Scottie Scheffler, is seven shots off the lead after scoring 67.
