Raducanu Pulls Out of Madrid Open Due to Ongoing Recovery

British tennis star Emma Raducanu has announced her withdrawal from the upcoming Madrid Open, citing her ongoing recovery from post-viral symptoms. Raducanu, who has been dealing with the aftermath of an illness contracted in Romania, has also pulled out of recent WTA Tour events in Miami and Linz. The 20-year-old is currently back in training and is hopeful of returning to competition at the Italian Open in Rome, scheduled to start on May 5. Raducanu's last match was a third-round defeat to Amanda Anisimova at Indian Wells on March 8, where she struggled with a lack of power. Since parting ways with coach Francisco Roig in January, Raducanu has been working informally with Mark Petchey to regain her form. The Madrid Open has seen several high-profile withdrawals, including Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, and Barbora Krejcikova. Raducanu's next scheduled tournament will be the Italian Open, followed by events in Strasbourg and Rabat leading up to the French Open.
