Former Celtic player Chris Sutton has expressed his doubts about his old team's ability to secure their 14th league title since 2011, instead believing the championship will be contested between Hearts and Rangers. With only five games remaining in the Scottish Premiership, the margin for error is minimal. Sutton's comments came after a dramatic weekend that saw all three title contenders emerge victorious, with Hearts maintaining their lead at the top of the table, one point ahead of Rangers and two points ahead of Celtic.
Despite Celtic's 1-0 win over St Mirren, Sutton thinks it will be too great a challenge for them to overcome their rivals. Hearts came from behind to defeat Motherwell 3-1, while Rangers staged an incredible comeback to win 6-3 at Falkirk. With the title race nearing its climax, Sutton asserted, 'It's impossible to predict. I don't think Celtic can win it, it's out of Hearts and Rangers.' He advised teams to focus on their next game, saying, 'You just worry about the next game, winning the next game and getting on with it.' Rangers player Scott Arfield, however, refused to rule out any of the contenders, stating, 'The next game is always the most important but of course Rangers look at where they think they can win and have belief at where they can win.' With no room for error, the title race is expected to go down to the wire.
