Red Bull Revamps Technical Team

Red Bull has unveiled a series of changes within its technical department, aiming to enhance its performance and innovation capabilities. Ben Waterhouse, who has been with the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will assume an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting to technical director Pierre Wache. Waterhouse's new position will oversee design and vehicle performance, strengthening the integration between these areas to accelerate the development of competitive solutions. Meanwhile, Andrea Landi will join the team on July 1 as head of performance, bringing experience from his previous roles as deputy technical director at Racing Bulls and deputy head of vehicle performance at Ferrari. Landi will report to Waterhouse. According to a Red Bull statement, these changes align with the team's long-term technical objectives and demonstrate its commitment to developing internal talent while attracting top expertise from the sport. Following a challenging start to the new era of F1 regulations, Red Bull currently sits sixth in the Constructors' Championship, 119 points behind leaders Mercedes. The team has also experienced key staff departures in recent years, including Gianpiero Lambiase's upcoming move to McLaren in 2028. The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, will take place on May 1-3, live on Sky Sports F1.
