Bryson DeChambeau has pulled out of the LIV Golf Mexico City tournament ahead of the final round, citing a wrist injury. DeChambeau, a two-time LIV Golf winner this season, was 16 strokes behind leader Jon Rahm after posting a two-over 73 on Saturday. He stated, "I felt some discomfort in my wrist during Saturday's round and have decided to withdraw from the final round to avoid further injury.
It's not how I envisioned this week, but I wish the Crushers a strong finish. I'll take a few days to get evaluated and hope to be ready for LIV Golf Virginia." DeChambeau had previously won LIV Golf events in Singapore and South Africa before missing the cut at The Masters.
Mexico's Luis Carrera replaced DeChambeau in the Crushers GC lineup for the final round, where Rahm led by two strokes. This withdrawal comes amid scrutiny surrounding the LIV Golf League's financial future, with reports suggesting the Saudi Public Investment Fund may end its support. LIV chief executive Scott O'Neil stated that the league is funded through the season and will then work to secure its future. The next LIV Golf League event is scheduled for May 7-10 at Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC.
