Following his signing with Zuffa Boxing, Chris Billam-Smith has expressed his desire to face Jai Opetaia, aiming to solidify his position as the world's best. Billam-Smith's career has been marked by notable achievements, including his reign as WBO cruiserweight world champion from May 2023 to November 2024. After losing the title to Gilberto Ramirez, he rebounded with a win over Brandon Glanton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Opetaia, also a Zuffa fighter, recently became the inaugural Zuffa world cruiserweight champion with a unanimous decision victory over Glanton. Billam-Smith emphasized that his goal is to prove himself as the best by defeating top opponents, with Opetaia being a primary target. With a multi-fight deal with Zuffa, Billam-Smith is eager to return to the ring after a year-long absence and is currently in training, anticipating a fight announcement soon.
