Ben Woolliss Set for Sky Sports Return Following Electrifying ONE Debut
Following his remarkable debut in ONE Championship, British fighter Ben Woolliss is scheduled to return to the ring on May 16, with the event being broadcast live on Sky Sports. Woolliss is set to face off against Petchtanong Petchfergus in a bantamweight kickboxing match at the Lumpinee Stadium in Thailand, which will be aired on Sky Sports in the early hours of Saturday, May 16. This upcoming bout on ONE Fight Night 43 will see Woolliss pitted against a former ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion. Despite battling long-term health issues, Woolliss recently signed with ONE and made his promotional debut last month. On just nine days' notice, he accepted his first assignment, taking on former ONE bantamweight MMA world champion John Lineker in a featherweight kickboxing clash. Lineker is infamous for his formidable punching power, but Woolliss secured a stunning one-round stoppage victory, defeating "Hands of Stone" with a series of damaging low kicks. The main event on May 16 features Chinese star Tang Kai as he defends his ONE featherweight MMA world title for the second time against Shamil "The Cobra" Gasanov. Tang Kai has dominated the featherweight MMA division, while Gasanov boasts an impressive record, leveraging his expertise in stand-up fighting, grappling, and submissions to overwhelm opponents. Having avenged his only career loss, "The Cobra" is now poised to strike and may prove unstoppable.
