Manchester City Stands by Antoine Semenyo Following Additional Racist Abuse

Manchester City is providing support to Antoine Semenyo after the player recently faced further instances of racial abuse. The 26-year-old forward took to Instagram to highlight the issue, sharing a screenshot of a derogatory comment he received. This incident comes after Semenyo reported being racially abused by a supporter during the season's opening match against Liverpool, while playing for his former team Bournemouth. The Ghana international had scored two goals in the 4-2 loss. A 47-year-old man, Mark Mogan, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident, with a trial set for April 22. The Premier League has condemned the latest abuse, stating, 'We are appalled at the unacceptable online racist abuse targeted at Antoine Semenyo and have offered our support to the player and club. Racism has no place in our game or anywhere in society.' The FA has also expressed its support, emphasizing that it will work with various stakeholders to address the issue and ensure those found guilty face severe consequences. Both organizations are committed to creating a hate-free environment for players and fans alike.
