Red Bull Revamps Technical Team to Enhance Performance

Red Bull has unveiled a restructuring of its technical department, aimed at bolstering its commitment to innovation and performance. Ben Waterhouse, who has been with the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will assume an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting directly to technical director Pierre Wache. This move is expected to foster greater integration between design and vehicle performance, accelerating the development of cutting-edge solutions. Meanwhile, Andrea Landi is set to join the team from Racing Bulls on July 1 as head of performance, bringing with him a wealth of experience, including a stint as deputy technical director at Racing Bulls and deputy head of vehicle performance at Ferrari. Landi will report to Waterhouse. According to a Red Bull statement, these changes underscore the team's long-term technical aspirations and its dedication to nurturing internal talent while attracting top expertise from across the sport. Red Bull has faced a difficult start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, 119 points behind leaders Mercedes. The team has also experienced a series of high-profile staff departures in recent years, with key personnel joining rival teams. The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is scheduled to take place on May 1-3, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1.
