Cyrus Pattinson is on a mission to revive his career as he prepares to step back into the ring in Newcastle this Saturday. A former top amateur boxer, Pattinson was just one win shy of qualifying for the 2016 Olympics.
He turned pro in 2021, racking up six consecutive wins and establishing himself as a fan favorite in the North East. However, his career hit a snag when he lost to Conah Walker in 2023, leaving him without a promoter, manager, or trainer, and struggling with a severe eye injury that threatened to derail his career. Pattinson has since found a new lease on life under the guidance of trainer Billy Nelson, and is now looking to build on his recent winning streak.
"I was at rock bottom, just trying to survive each day," he revealed. "But I've always lived by the motto of taking it one day at a time, and I'm grateful to have made it through the dark times." Pattinson's resilience and determination have earned him a new opportunity, and he's eager to make the most of it.
"I know I've got a tough opponent in front of me on Saturday, but I'm ready for the challenge," he said. "I always give it my all and leave everything in the ring. My goal is to win, and I know I've got the heart and soul to make it happen." With his sights set on the British and Commonwealth welterweight titles, Pattinson is more determined than ever to prove himself as a force to be reckoned with in the boxing world.
"I'm just taking it one fight at a time, but I know I've got the potential to compete at the highest level," he said. "I'm a fighter who always gives the fans their money's worth, and I'm confident that I can beat anyone in the welterweight division."
