In a thrilling Coral Scottish Grand National, Kap Vert, trained by Philip Hobbs and owned by Johnson White, took the top prize, outpacing Git Maker and Kim Roque. Under the skilled guidance of Sean Houlihan, the six-year-old demonstrated impressive form, navigating the fences with ease despite his limited experience. Meanwhile, Midlands National winner Isaac Des Obeaux and Git Maker suffered costly mistakes, with the latter almost unseating Jonathan Burke before recovering to finish second. Hobbs and White's success was a welcome consolation after finishing second in the Scottish Champion Hurdle with Captain Hugo earlier in the day, and they took home the £112,000 first prize.
