This weekend features a double-header of races in the German track's endurance series. A minute of silence will be observed before the start of Sunday's second four-hour race, following the tragic death of driver Juha Miettinen in a multi-car crash that led to the suspension of Saturday's race. Max Verstappen was among those paying tribute to the 66-year-old. With the F1 season on hold in April due to the cancellation of the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix, Verstappen has added the NLS4 and NLS5 races to his expanding GT3 schedule. Verstappen is teaming up with seasoned endurance driver Lucas Auer, the nephew of former F1 driver Gerhard Berger, in the Red Bull-livered Mercedes-AMG GT3 car for Verstappen Racing. They will be competing in a 37-strong GT3 field at the infamous 'Green Hell' in the latest rounds of the Nurburgring Langstrecken-Serie. He previously won on his debut last September in a Ferrari 296 GT3 car, which he shared with Britain's Chris Lulham. On his return to NLS action last month, Verstappen and his teammates, driving the Mercedes, secured a first-place finish but were subsequently disqualified due to exceeding the permitted tyre allocation.
