Cyrus Pattinson is on the path to redemption as he prepares to continue his resurgence in Newcastle this Saturday. A former top-ranked GB amateur boxer, Pattinson was just one win away from qualifying for the 2016 Olympics. After turning pro in 2021, he won his first six fights, establishing himself as a fan favorite in the North East.

However, a thrilling victory over former British champion Chris Jenkins was followed by a loss to Conah Walker in an all-action brawl. The defeat led to a tumultuous period in Pattinson's career, marked by the loss of his promoter, manager, and trainer, as well as a severe eye injury that threatened to end his career.

The situation was dire, with Pattinson describing it as 'rock bottom.' He struggled with negative thoughts and depression, often finding it hard to get through the day. However, he persevered, adopting a 'one more day' motto to help him cope. Pattinson eventually found his way to Billy Nelson's gym in Glasgow, where he began as a sparring partner for Jack Rafferty and world champion Lewis Crocker.

Under Nelson's guidance, Pattinson has rebounded with three consecutive wins and is now set to face Tunde Segun Adeyemi at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle on Saturday. 'I've got a tough opponent in front of me, but I'm always up for a challenge,' Pattinson said. 'I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I'll always give it my all.' Pattinson's loss to Walker has been put into perspective, given Walker's subsequent success, including a knockout win over Olympic silver medalist Pat McCormack.

Pattinson believes he can beat anyone and is targeting the British and Commonwealth welterweight titles after his next fight. His trainer, Billy Nelson, is confident in Pattinson's abilities, stating, 'He's a consummate professional, and I'm more than confident he can compete at the domestic level, if not European.' Pattinson remains focused on his upcoming fight but is eager to challenge for titles in the long term.

'I'm an asset to any promoter, and I know I can win those belts,' he said. 'I trust myself, and as long as I stay true to myself, that's all that matters.'
