Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has confessed that he is unsure about the potential consequences the team will face if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. Following a 1-0 home defeat to Manchester United, Chelsea now trails the Red Devils by 10 points and Liverpool by four points.
Prior to the game, Cole Palmer stated that he had no intention of leaving the club and emphasized the importance of qualifying for the Champions League in order to attract the necessary players. Rosenior acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the team's plans if they miss out on the competition. 'To be honest, I don't know,' he said in a post-match press conference.
Chelsea's chances of qualifying for the Champions League are dwindling, with only five Premier League games remaining. The team will rely on other teams, such as Liverpool and Aston Villa, to slip up in order to climb back into the top four. Rosenior believes that despite the challenges, the team still has a chance to qualify for the Champions League.
'It's a tough task, but not impossible,' he added. 'We need to win our next game against Brighton and use that as a catalyst to turn our season around.'
