Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has booked her place in her second WTA Tour final of the year after defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the Linz Open semi-finals. Andreeva, the top seed, made a strong start by breaking Ruse's serve in the opening game, but her momentum was halted by consecutive breaks on her own serve. Potapova took an early 4-1 lead but was forced to hold on as Vekic mounted a comeback. She continued to assert her dominance in the second set, building a 4-0 lead before sealing her win. This will be Potapova's first final since her debut win three years ago. Interestingly, Potapova's win makes her the first Austrian to reach the tournament's final since 1991, although she represented Russia until December 2025. The final will be the pair's fourth meeting, with Andreeva having won their last two encounters, but their first on clay.
