Mercedes Working Behind the Scenes to Enhance Race Starts

George Russell has revealed that Mercedes is putting in significant effort to improve their race starts, which have been a weakness for the team despite their strong performance in the opening three Grands Prix. Although Mercedes has secured four front row lockouts, neither Russell nor his teammate has managed to take the lead after the first lap. The team's inability to start strongly has been a notable flaw, but they have been able to recover and win due to their pace. Ferrari, on the other hand, has been the best starter so far this season, thanks to their smaller turbo, which allows for quicker acceleration off the line. Russell emphasized that while the team has limited opportunities to practice starts, they have been analyzing data to identify areas for improvement. The team has been using simulator days to review the first three races and prepare for the upcoming sprint races in Miami and Montreal. Although they are not allowed to practice starts during Pirelli tyre testing, they are working diligently behind the scenes to address their weakness and find solutions.
