Sixtygeesbaby Leads the Charge in Ripon's Featured Event

Thursday promises to be an exciting day of racing, with events from Hereford and Ripon broadcast live on Sky Sports Racing. The highly-regarded Sixtygeesbaby and American Style are set to clash in the Armstrong Memorial Handicap, marking the beginning of Ripon's 2026 season. Having joined the David O'Meara team in March, Sixtygeesbaby will make only his second start for the new yard, following a respectable performance at Doncaster last month. American Style, meanwhile, seeks to regain his winning form, having struggled towards the end of the previous season. He returns to the scene of his last victory, racing over the same distance. Modern Times is another contender to watch, having not competed since winning at this course and distance in June of last year, and receiving a significant weight advantage over the top two. Never miss out on the latest racing news, interviews, and features on your mobile device. The untested Storm Esme aims to overcome a 4-pound rise in the Ripon Silver Bowl Handicap at Ripon. Following a successful juvenile campaign, during which she won two out of three starts, Storm Esme begins her new season. Cotai Belle, who competed against Storm Esme in the Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar, will also be in action, although she will be at a weight disadvantage. Wyle Cop, having demonstrated his fitness with two All-Weather starts this season, could perform well in his return to turf racing. Sherborne will attempt to achieve a hat-trick in the Keltruck Ltd Handicap Chase at Hereford, having previously won at Exeter and Ascot. Insurrection will be dropping down a class after a disappointing finish in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham, while Black Hawk Eagle will be racing with a feather weight after a recent victory at Chepstow. The day will also feature an 0-85 handicap at Ripon and eight low-grade races from ParisLongchamp.
