Red Bull Revamps Technical Team

Red Bull has unveiled a restructuring of its technical department, aimed at enhancing its emphasis on innovation and performance. Ben Waterhouse, who has been a part of the team since 2017 as head of performance engineering, will assume an expanded leadership role as chief performance and design engineer, reporting directly to technical director Pierre Wache. This move is expected to fortify the integration between design and vehicle performance, thereby expediting the development of high-performance solutions. Meanwhile, Andrea Landi will join the team from Racing Bulls on July 1 as head of performance, bringing with him experience as deputy technical director and previously as deputy head of vehicle performance at Ferrari. Landi will report to Waterhouse. According to a Red Bull statement, these changes are in line with the team's long-term technical objectives and demonstrate its commitment to nurturing internal talent while attracting top expertise from the sport. Red Bull has faced a difficult start to the new era of F1 regulations, currently sitting sixth in the Constructors' Championship, 119 points behind leaders Mercedes. The team has also experienced the departure of key staff members to rival teams in recent years, including the recent announcement of Gianpiero Lambiase's impending move to McLaren in 2028. The Miami Grand Prix, the season's second Sprint weekend, is set to take place on May 1-3, live on Sky Sports F1.
