The International Cricket Council has revealed a 10% increase in the total prize fund for the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup, which will take place in England and Wales this summer. The winning team will receive $2.34 million, while the runners-up will take home $1.17 million.
All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from the 2024 edition. The tournament, which will feature 12 teams, is set to be a landmark moment for women's cricket, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition. The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, stated that the growth of women's cricket continues to accelerate, and the expansion of the tournament, combined with a record prize pool, underlines the commitment to building a stronger, more competitive global game. The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, added that the event is on course to become the most attended women's cricket event in history, with the trophy tour playing a key role in taking the game to new audiences and building excitement across England and Wales.
