Former Formula 1 world champion Nigel Mansell believes Lewis Hamilton has regained his momentum this season. Hamilton recently ended a 16-month podium drought with a third-place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix, marking his first rostrum finish since joining Ferrari in 2025. The 41-year-old's performance has been closer to that of his teammate Charles Leclerc, a significant improvement from last year. According to Mansell, the new regulations seem to favor Hamilton's driving style, and he doesn't rule out the possibility of Hamilton winning a race this season.
Mansell stated, 'Lewis is fired up again. He's had a brilliant career, and it's fantastic what he's doing.' Hamilton credits his improved form to better preparation, both mentally and physically. He noted that the previous year's car didn't suit his driving style, but this year's car is a new start, and he's grateful that the team incorporated some of the changes he requested. Meanwhile, Mansell thinks George Russell needs to use his experience to win the intra-team battle against Kimi Antonelli, who currently leads the championship.
