Pattinson's Journey Back to the Top

Cyrus Pattinson is on a mission to revive his career, as he prepares to step into the ring in Newcastle this Saturday. A former top amateur boxer, Pattinson was just one win away from qualifying for the 2016 Olympic Games. After turning pro in 2021, he won his first six fights, establishing himself as a fan favorite in the North East. However, a thrilling victory over former British champion Chris Jenkins was followed by a loss to Conah Walker in 2023, which sent Pattinson's career into a tailspin. Without a promoter, manager, or trainer, and struggling with a severe eye injury, Pattinson found himself at rock bottom. "It was a very dark time, and I was just trying to survive each day," he recalled. "But I always believed in myself, and I'm living proof that you can overcome adversity." Pattinson has since found a new lease on life, training with Billy Nelson in Glasgow. With three consecutive wins under his belt, he's ready to take on Tunde Segun Adeyemi at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle. "I've got a tough opponent in front of me, but I'm confident in my abilities," Pattinson said. "I always give it my all, and I know I can beat anyone in the welterweight division." Pattinson's loss to Walker now looks like a valuable learning experience, given Walker's subsequent success, including a knockout victory over Olympic silver medalist Pat McCormack. "I know I'm just as good as anyone in the division, and I'm eager to prove it," Pattinson said. With his sights set on the British and Commonwealth welterweight titles, Pattinson is determined to make a statement in his next fight. His trainer, Billy Nelson, is equally confident, saying, "Cyrus has made tremendous progress, and I believe he's ready to compete at the highest level." For Pattinson, the focus is on the present, but he's excited about the future. "I'm just taking it one fight at a time, but I know I have the potential to achieve great things," he said. "I'm a fighter, and I'll always give it my all, no matter what challenges I face."
