England Women's Rugby Team Secures Impressive 87-4 Victory Over Scotland
England women's rugby head coach John Mitchell praised his team's 87-4 win over Scotland in the Women's Six Nations as 'special' after a challenging week. The team had a shaky start against Ireland and faced injuries to key players, including Alex Matthews, Hannah Botterman, and Morwenna Talling. Despite these setbacks, the team made five changes to the starting lineup and delivered a dominant performance, with five tries in the first half and seven in the second. Mitchell attributed the success to the team's courage and adaptability, saying, 'That was a special performance... I am fortunate to the staff and the coaching group - they have done a tremendous job.' The team's young players, including Maddie Feaunati, also made a strong impression. In contrast, Scotland struggled with depth, with former Scotland international Jade Konkel noting, 'The stats speak for themselves; the missed tackles, the lack of gain line; and the amount of turnovers as well. They'll be frustrated but if they want to compete with the best, they have to step up their game.'
