Garnacho Reflects on Manchester United Exit, Admits to Past Mistakes

Alejandro Garnacho has spoken candidly about his departure from Manchester United, acknowledging that he made some poor decisions during his final six months at the club. Garnacho joined Chelsea in a £40m transfer last summer after being left out of Ruben Amorim's first-team squad during pre-season. Prior to his departure, Garnacho was spotted wearing an Aston Villa shirt with Marcus Rashford's name on it, sparking controversy. Following United's Europa League final loss to Tottenham, Garnacho's brother claimed that he had been unfairly treated by Amorim. When asked if he regrets his exit from Old Trafford, Garnacho expressed mixed emotions, stating that he loved the club and appreciated the opportunities it provided him. He attributed his decreased playing time to his own mistakes, saying, 'I was only 20 years old, but in my mind, it was like I had to play every game. In my mind, maybe it is also on me, I started to do some bad things.' Garnacho has since moved on to Chelsea, where he is proud to be playing in the Premier League. Amorim has also commented on Garnacho's departure, saying that sometimes players need a change of scenery and that it's not uncommon for things to not work out between a player and a coach. Meanwhile, Manchester United is on the hunt for a new manager, with Michael Carrick emerging as a top candidate. Carrick has led the team to seven wins in 10 games since January, making a Champions League return more likely. He believes that his experience and understanding of the club's DNA make him a strong fit for the role.
