The final standings from the Masters, the year's first major, held at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia, are now available. Rory McIlroy, the reigning champion, successfully defended his title after a thrilling playoff victory over Justin Rose the previous year, becoming the sixth player in history to achieve a career Grand Slam. World number one Scottie Scheffler was the pre-tournament favorite, despite not having a top-10 finish in his last three PGA Tour events.
McIlroy made history by winning the title for the second time, finishing one stroke ahead of Scheffler. Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley were tied for third place. The top 10 was rounded out by Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele.
A total of 91 players participated in the tournament. The Masters is followed by the PGA Championship in May, the US Open in June, and the Open in July. The PGA Tour will head to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, with Justin Thomas returning as the defending champion.
