Bromley Miss Opportunity to Secure Promotion After Goalless Draw with Cambridge

Bromley's bid for promotion to League One has been put on hold after they were held to a 0-0 draw by Cambridge United at Hayes Lane. The visitors had several early chances, with Ben Knight and Dominic Ball both missing opportunities to score within the first 15 minutes. Bromley's first chance came after 25 minutes, when Omar Sownunmi's header sailed over the crossbar with goalkeeper Jack Walton beaten. Cambridge continued to threaten, with Shayne Lavery hitting the bar from Adam Mayor's cross on the half-hour mark. The second half saw Cambridge's Knight force a sharp save from Grant Smith, before the hosts responded with Ben Thompson and Jude Arthurs both being denied by Walton. With 10 minutes remaining, Smith made a superb save to tip Kelland Watts' header over, but neither side could find a breakthrough despite a late goalmouth scramble.
