Manchester United's interim manager, Michael Carrick, has stated that no decision has been made regarding Marcus Rashford's future at the club. Rashford, a 28-year-old forward, is currently on loan at Barcelona, with a £26m option to buy clause. However, Barcelona's hesitation to make the deal permanent at that price has led to speculation about Rashford's potential return to Manchester United.
When asked about the possibility of Rashford playing for United again, Carrick remained non-committal, stating that decisions will be made in due time. Rashford has had a successful spell at Barcelona, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in 43 appearances. Nevertheless, he has faced criticism for his recent performances, including being dropped for the second leg of Barcelona's Champions League quarter-final defeat to Atletico Madrid.
Despite this, Manchester United is confident that they can receive a higher fee for Rashford from other clubs if Barcelona refuses to meet the agreed-upon terms. Carrick also discussed the possibility of strengthening the team's left-wing position, revealing that conversations have taken place regarding recruitment.
The club is reportedly interested in RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande and Everton's Iliman Ndiaye, but Carrick emphasized that concrete talks will take place at a later time.
