Atang: I Must Live Up to Moses Itauma's Achievements

As a highly touted heavyweight prospect, Leo Atang is feeling the weight of expectation. Moses Itauma, who turned pro as a teenager, has quickly established himself as a top contender at just 21 years old, setting a high bar for others to follow. Atang, 19, is preparing for his sixth professional fight in Liverpool and boasts a 100 percent knockout ratio, but he's keen to carve out his own path to success. "I'm not trying to be the next Moses Itauma, I'm going to be myself," he told Sky Sports. "Everyone moves at different rates, and I'll plot my own course to the top of the heavyweight division." Atang acknowledges that a potential showdown with Itauma is inevitable, but believes there's no need to rush into it. "Of course, it'll happen, but when the time's right. We can wait, build our names, and when the time's right, it'll be a massive fight," he said. Atang feels that he's had to work harder to escape Itauma's shadow, with the pressure to live up to his achievements coming from outside sources. Despite this, he remains focused on his goal of becoming a world champion. "The world title's the goal for me, that's the plan," he stated. "I know I'm on the right path, and when it's time to take on the big names, I'll be ready."
