England's Jones and Bern Identify Areas for Improvement After Convincing Win

England captain Megan Jones and teammate Sarah Bern acknowledged that there is still room for improvement despite the team's 33-12 victory over Ireland in their Women's Six Nations opener. The win, which marked England's 34th consecutive Test victory, was secured through tries from Bern, Amy Cockayne, Jess Breach, and Ellie Kildunne. Although the team emerged triumphant in front of a record-breaking crowd of 77,120 at Allianz Stadium, Jones conceded that England did not perform at their best. Jones, who was leading the team for the first time in the absence of World Cup-winning captain Zoe Stratford, attributed the nerves to the pressure of living up to their World Cup success. Bern echoed Jones' sentiments, stating that the new-look side, which featured only seven players from the World Cup final, was not expected to gel immediately. Despite some areas for improvement, both players praised the electric atmosphere in the stadium, which helped propel the team to a bonus-point victory.
