Women's T20 World Cup 2026 to Feature Record-Breaking Prize Fund

The International Cricket Council has announced a 10% increase in the total prize fund for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, with the winning team set to receive $2.34 million and the runners-up taking home $1.17 million. All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500, more than double the amount from 2024. The tournament, which will feature 12 teams, is expected to set new attendance and viewing records, with a record-breaking prize pool of $8,765 million. The event will be held across 24 days in seven venues, starting on June 12. According to ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta, 'The growth of women's cricket continues to accelerate, and the expansion of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup to 12 teams, combined with a record prize pool, underlines our commitment to building a stronger, more competitive global game.' The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, added that 'The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 is set to be a landmark moment for the game - on course to become the most attended women's cricket event in history, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition.' The prize money breakdown includes $2.34 million for the winners, $1.17 million for the runners-up, $675,000 for the losing semi-finalists, $31,154 for a group match win, and a guaranteed $247,500 for all 12 teams.
