Joel Tomkins Leaves Catalans Dragons Due to Personal Circumstances

Joel Tomkins has announced his decision to resign from his position as head coach at Catalans Dragons, a role he held for nearly a year, citing personal reasons. The former England rugby league and union international found it challenging to be away from his family and made the decision to leave the team after spending time back home. Tomkins initially took on the role as an interim coach but was later appointed permanently. He expressed gratitude for the experience and friendships gained, stating that he has grown both personally and professionally. However, the prolonged separation from his family proved difficult, leading to his decision to step down. Tomkins will be replaced by Ryan Sheridan as interim head coach, alongside assistant coaches Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, for the team's next game against Warrington Wolves.
