McLaren Unveils Strategy to Reclaim F1 Title

Lando Norris remains optimistic that McLaren can mount a strong title defense when the F1 season resumes at the Miami Grand Prix, despite the team's sluggish start to the new era. Although Norris has yet to secure a podium finish in the first three races, his teammate Oscar Piastri's second-place finish in Japan has provided a glimmer of hope. With nearly five weeks to refine their cars, Norris believes there is still ample opportunity to turn their fortunes around. "I think we can still have a successful season, even if we're not currently where we want to be," Norris said, trailing early championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 47 points. "We want to push hard for the championship; this isn't about giving up and focusing on next year. There are plenty of examples where we've overcome slow starts to finish strong." Norris emphasized the importance of addressing the reliability issues plaguing their car and Mercedes power unit. "We need to work hard to get back into contention for wins and ensure our car is capable of winning every weekend," he added. Teammate Piastri also expressed confidence in the team's ability to close the gap to Mercedes and return to regular victory contention over the remaining 19 races. "We have a lot of work to do, but I trust that the team will do everything they can to get us there," Piastri said. "I'm excited to see what we can achieve."
