Cyrus Pattinson is mounting a comeback from a difficult period in his career, seeking to extend his recent resurgence in Newcastle this Saturday. A former top GB amateur boxer who narrowly missed qualifying for the 2016 Olympics, Pattinson turned pro in 2021 and initially won six consecutive fights, establishing himself as a fan favorite in the North East. However, after a loss to Conah Walker in 2023, Pattinson found himself without a promoter, manager, or trainer, and was struggling with a severe eye injury that threatened to derail his career. This period marked a low point for Pattinson, who has spoken about the mental health challenges he faced and the daily struggles he endured.

"It was rock bottom. I was just trying to survive each day," he shared. Pattinson has since found a new path forward, training with Billy Nelson in Glasgow and securing three consecutive wins.

He is now set to face Tunde Segun Adeyemi at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle on Saturday. "I've got a tough opponent ahead, but I'm ready for the challenge," Pattinson said. "I always give it my all, and I know I can beat anyone in the welterweight division." Pattinson's loss to Walker now seems less significant, given Walker's continued success, including a recent knockout of Olympic silver medalist Pat McCormack. Pattinson's trainer, Billy Nelson, expressed confidence in his fighter's abilities, stating, "Cyrus has improved significantly, and I believe he can compete at the domestic and European levels." Pattinson's long-term goal is to challenge for the British and Commonwealth welterweight titles, and he remains focused on his upcoming fight while keeping an eye on future opportunities.
