Hull FC Announces Coaching Change as Cartwright Departs, Paving Way for McNamara's 2027 Arrival

John Cartwright has stepped down as Hull FC's head coach, effective immediately, as the club prepares for Steve McNamara's arrival in 2027. McNamara, who will join his boyhood club after completing his current commitment as assistant coach at Warrington Wolves, boasts an impressive coaching career spanning over two decades. His achievements include leading the Catalans Dragons to a Challenge Cup final victory, a League Leaders Shield, and two Super League Grand Final appearances. McNamara's return to Hull FC, where he began his playing career, marks a significant moment for the club. In the interim, assistant coach Andy Last will assume the head coach role until the end of the current season. Hull FC's chief executive, Richie Myler, expressed his delight at securing McNamara's services, describing him as a 'coach of the highest calibre' who understands the club and the city.
