Millwall's blistering start paved the way for a 2-0 victory over QPR in the Sky Bet Championship, lifting them back into second place in the table. After a slow run of one win in five games, the Lions rediscovered their form with early goals from Derek Mazou-Sacko and Camiel Neghli, dominating the London derby from the outset.
Alex Neil's side now sit a point above Ipswich, who face Middlesbrough on Sunday, as the battle for Premier League promotion heats up. Millwall took the lead after just three minutes when Mazou-Sacko powered a fine finish past QPR goalkeeper Joe Walsh. The hosts continued to dictate the game, doubling their lead in the 17th minute through Neghli's beautifully crafted shot.
Despite QPR making four half-time substitutions, Millwall remained in control, coming close to a third goal when Josh Coburn's header was saved by Walsh. QPR finally registered a shot on target in the 89th minute, but Nikolas Madsen's effort was kept out by Millwall goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, securing a successful afternoon for the home side.
