Joel Tomkins Leaves Catalans Dragons Due to Personal Circumstances

Joel Tomkins has announced his departure from Catalans Dragons, citing personal reasons for his decision to leave the role he held for nearly a year. The former England rugby league and union international found it challenging to be away from his family and made the decision after a recent period at home. Tomkins initially took on the role as an interim coach but was later appointed permanently. He expressed gratitude for the experiences and friendships gained during his time at the club, stating he has learned a great deal and leaves as a better coach. However, the prolonged separation from his family proved difficult, leading to his decision to step away. Tomkins was absent from the club's last three fixtures, sparking speculation about his future. Ryan Sheridan, alongside assistant coaches Micky McIlorum and Mitchell Pearce, will take over as interim head coach for the side's next game against Warrington Wolves on April 18.
