Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike will miss the remainder of the season and the World Cup with France after sustaining a severe Achilles injury. The 23-year-old suffered the injury during a Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain and scans have confirmed a rupture of the Achilles tendon. As a result, Ekitike will be sidelined for at least six months, with the possibility of an extended absence of up to nine months. France head coach Didier Deschamps expressed his support for Ekitike, stating that the young player had perfectly integrated into the team and his injury is a significant blow.
