Fitzpatrick Takes the Lead After Round Two of the RBC Heritage

Matt Fitzpatrick has taken the top spot on the leaderboard after the second round of the RBC Heritage, finishing with a one-stroke lead after achieving an impressive eight-under-par 63. The English golfer had a flawless round, making eight birdies, including a notable 36-foot putt on the 15th hole, at Hilton Head. Following an opening round of 65, which put him in a six-way tie for third, Fitzpatrick began Friday strong. Now, the 2022 US Open champion is in the lead at 14 under par at the halfway point. Viktor Hovland of Norway trails closely, just one stroke behind after scoring 65 in the second round. Meanwhile, Ludvig Aberg, who led overnight, dropped to a joint-fourth position due to three bogeys on the back nine. Robert MacIntyre of Scotland is six shots behind Fitzpatrick after scoring 68, while world number one Scottie Scheffler is seven shots off the pace with a score of 67.
