Andreeva Secures Spot in Linz Final Against Potapova

Mirra Andreeva has booked her place in the Linz Open final, her second WTA Tour final this year, after defeating Elena-Gabriela Ruse 6-4, 6-1 in the semi-finals. Andreeva, the top seed, initially broke Ruse's serve in the opening game but then faced consecutive breaks on her own serve. However, she regained control by breaking Ruse to love in the eighth game and then again in the next service game to claim the set 6-4. Andreeva dominated the second set, breaking Ruse in the fourth and sixth games, before securing a 6-4, 6-1 victory in one hour and 27 minutes. Anastasia Potapova will also return to the final, her first since winning the title on her debut three years ago, after beating Donna Vekic 6-4, 6-2. Potapova took an early lead but Vekic fought back, though Potapova managed to hold on and take the first set. She continued to dominate in the second set, building a 4-0 lead before ultimately winning. This marks Potapova's first win over Vekic in their last three meetings. The upcoming final will be the pair's fourth meeting, with Andreeva having won their last two encounters, though they have yet to play each other on clay.
