Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following an impressive eight consecutive wins, Nicky Richards is set to send three runners to Hexham for Monday's National Hunt action. Jamesieconn, chasing a four-timer, will be among Richards' team, which has been on a remarkable run. This seven-year-old previously demonstrated a liking for the three-mile trip and good ground when winning at Carlisle, but has since been raised 5lbs to a mark of 100. Despite the added weight, Jamesieconn may still rise to the challenge under Danny McMenamin. Streamsforth Lad, who has placed in various events but is yet to claim a win, will also be competing. With a mark of 97, he may have a chance to finally get his head in front. Meanwhile, Stuart Coltherd's Rightbackatyou will look to build on the trainer's recent success, which has yielded a level-stakes profit of +298 over the last two weeks. Nicky Richards will also be sending out Young Getaway to attempt to continue his team's winning streak in the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase. This will be Young Getaway's chasing debut, a year after being defeated over hurdles by That One, who will also be making his debut over fences. The Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore combination will field two runners, Heads Or Harps and Choose A Copper, with the former having been ultra consistent in recent starts. Grant Wood, trained by Paul Midgley, returns to Gosforth Park, where he has enjoyed success in the past. Wicket Keeper, who has won twice over six furlongs, will also be competing, as will Paddy's Day, who will be wearing a tongue-tie for the first time, and Albasheer, who will be ridden by Sky Sports Racing ambassador Hollie Doyle. Finally, Gardener will return for the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4:30 pm, seeking to build on his previous win over the course and distance.
