Women's T20 World Cup 2026 Boasts Record-Breaking Prize Fund

The International Cricket Council has confirmed a 10% increase in the total prize fund for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026, with the winning team set to receive $2.34m (£1.74m) and the runners-up taking home $1.17m (£871,024). All participating teams are guaranteed a minimum of $247,500 (£184,245), more than double the amount from 2024. The tournament, which kicks off in 60 days, will feature 12 teams competing in 33 matches across 24 days in seven venues. The ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta, stated that the growth of women's cricket is accelerating, and the record prize pool demonstrates their commitment to building a stronger global game. The tournament director, Beth Barrett-Wild, believes the event will be a landmark moment for women's cricket, with record-breaking ticket demand and the largest-ever prize pot for a global women's T20 competition. The prize money for the top two teams remains the same as in 2024, but there was a significant increase of 134% compared to 2023. The total prize pot for the tournament has grown to $8,765m (£6,528m) with the expansion to 12 teams. The trophy tour will play a key role in building excitement ahead of the tournament, which starts on June 12.
