Nicky Richards Seeks to Extend Winning Streak at Hexham

Following a streak of eight consecutive victories, Nicky Richards is set to send three horses to Hexham for Monday's National Hunt event. Jamesieconn, seeking a fourth straight win, will compete in the Mick Walsh Open Ditch Handicap Chase. This seven-year-old previously demonstrated a preference for the three-mile distance and good ground when winning at Carlisle, and has since been assigned a 5lb higher mark of 100. Despite the added weight, Jamesieconn may still rise to the challenge under Danny McMenamin. Streamsforth Lad, meanwhile, has placed in various events but is yet to secure a win, and will start with a mark of 97. Stuart Coltherd, who has achieved a +298 level-stakes profit over the past two weeks, will saddle Rightbackatyou, who finished behind Scottish King in a recent event at Hexham. In the Anthony Woods Electrical Lightning Bolt Handicap Chase, Nicky Richards will enter Young Getaway, making his chasing debut after a year-long hiatus. That One, also making his first start over fences, will be ridden by Jack Power, who claims 5lbs, effectively reducing the seven-year-old's mark to 105. The Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore partnership will field two horses, Heads Or Harps and Choose A Copper, with the former having consistently placed in recent events. Grant Wood, trained by Paul Midgley, returns to Gosforth Park, where he has enjoyed success in the past, while Wicket Keeper seeks to build on his previous victories over six furlongs. Paddy's Day will wear a tongue-tie for the first time under Nigel Tinkler, and Albasheer, a past winner of the Constantine Handicap, will be ridden by Hollie Doyle. Gardener, who won his last event over the course and distance, will return for the Happy Retirement Maurice & Anne Barnes Handicap Hurdle at 4:30pm.
