"This isn't just about me" - Darts player Noa-Lynn Van Leuven has expressed her determination to keep fighting after the Darts Regulation Authority announced a ban on transgender women competing in women's tournaments. The 29-year-old, who has made history in the sport by becoming the first transgender woman to play at the World Darts Championship in 2024, has won six titles on the women's tour since joining in 2022. Van Leuven voiced her disappointment at the decision, stating that she is being forced into retirement due to the new rules. The DRA claims that the ban is necessary to ensure fair competition in darts, citing a review of its policies that included a report from an academic developmental biologist and extensive legal advice. Van Leuven has received support from fellow players, including Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries, who have spoken out against the ban. Despite the setback, Van Leuven remains resolute, saying "This isn't the end. I'm just going back to the drawing board. I'm not done fighting."
