Alistair Johnston Returns to Training, Julian Araujo's Celtic Career May Be Over
Celtic has received a boost with the return of Alistair Johnston to training after a lengthy absence due to a hamstring injury. The Canada right-back joined his teammates at the Lennoxtown training complex ahead of their Scottish Premiership match against St Mirren on Saturday. However, the club may have seen the last of loan defender Julian Araujo, who has suffered a setback in his recovery from a thigh problem. Araujo, a Mexico international, returned to his parent club Bournemouth to recover but has re-injured himself, leaving his chances of playing for Celtic again this season in doubt. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill expressed his concerns about Araujo's situation, stating that he may not feature for the club again if the injury is as severe as initially thought. In other news, right-back Colby Donovan will miss Saturday's game due to a hamstring injury and may also be unavailable for the Scottish Cup tie against the Saints at Hampden Park on April 19. O'Neill confirmed that Donovan is recovering well. The Celtic manager also welcomed the return of the Green Brigade, the club's ultras group, after a five-month ban was lifted. The group has been locked out of Celtic Park since October but will be back in attendance after meeting three key conditions. O'Neill acknowledged the importance of the fans' support, particularly in the title race, where Hearts currently lead with 67 points, one more than Rangers and three ahead of reigning champions Celtic. When asked about the title race, O'Neill stated that he would rather be in Hearts' position, given their lead with games running out.
