Hamilton's Revitalized Performance This Season

Former Formula 1 world champion Nigel Mansell believes Lewis Hamilton has regained his momentum this season. Hamilton recently ended his 16-month podium drought with a third-place finish at the Chinese Grand Prix, marking his first rostrum finish since joining Ferrari in 2025. The 41-year-old has also shown significant improvement in his pace compared to teammate Charles Leclerc, following a challenging previous season with the older generation of F1 cars. The new regulations seem to favor Hamilton's driving style, and Mansell thinks the seven-time world champion could win a race this season. 'Lewis is fired up again, and it's fantastic to see him performing so well,' Mansell told Sky Sports News. Hamilton attributes his resurgence to better mental and physical preparation, which has contributed to his return to form. He noted that when he joined Ferrari last year, the car wasn't tailored to his driving style, but the team has incorporated some of his requested changes into this year's car. Mansell, who was involved in several title fights before becoming world champion in 1992, believes this year's F1 Drivers' Championship could become a two-horse race between Mercedes drivers George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Mansell thinks Russell needs to utilize his experience to win the intra-team battle, emphasizing the importance of focus and authority in the competition.
