McIlroy Vows to Improve for Masters Victory

Rory McIlroy has acknowledged that he needs to improve his performance if he is to successfully defend his Masters title. Despite holding a record lead at the halfway stage, McIlroy's one-over par 73 on Saturday saw him finish level with Cameron Young on 11 under. McIlroy struggled with his irons, finding just 10 of the 18 greens in regulation, and made three bogeys along with a double bogey at the 11th. Speaking after his round, McIlroy stated that he knew the day wouldn't be easy, given the strong competition, and that he didn't quite have his best game. He expressed his intention to work on his game and come back stronger on the final day. McIlroy remains optimistic about his chances, citing his experience of playing in the final group and having won the title last year. He believes that having won previously will aid his chances, as he can play more freely, and that the atmosphere will be less intense. Sky Sports Golf's Rich Beem has praised McIlroy's resilience, saying that he has the ability to put disappointment behind him and bounce back. The final round of the Masters will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Golf, with coverage starting at 4:30 pm on Sunday.
