Benn Sets Sights on Garcia for World Title Showdown

Conor Benn expressed his eagerness to face WBC welterweight champion Ryan Garcia after defeating Regis Prograis on Saturday. Benn secured a unanimous decision victory over the former world champion at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, despite enduring a tough fight and suffering cuts from several head clashes. Following his win, Benn swiftly turned his attention to Garcia, saying, "Keep my belt warm, I'm coming for it!" Garcia, who won the WBC title in February, responded by saying, "I'm down, let's do it." Benn's victory over Prograis, which improved his record to 25-1, was at a catchweight of 3lb above the welterweight limit. Benn has primarily fought at welterweight, with his sole professional loss coming against Chris Eubank Jr at 160lb, before he won the rematch last year. Prograis pushed Benn hard, but the latter's superior speed and energy earned him a comfortable points victory. Benn stated, "It was a great fight, tough and durable, but we're ready to move on." He's now set to move down to 147lb to challenge Garcia.
