The final standings from the Masters, the year's inaugural major, are in from Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia. Rory McIlroy was the defending champion after winning last year's playoff against Justin Rose, making him the sixth player to complete the career Grand Slam and the first since Tiger Woods.
Despite Scottie Scheffler being the pre-tournament favorite, McIlroy successfully defended his title. McIlroy finished with a one-under 71, a stroke ahead of Scheffler, while Tyrrell Hatton, Justin Rose, Cameron Young, and Russell Henley tied for third.
The top 10 also included Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Max Homa, and Xander Schauffele. This week's major, the first of four in men's golf, was followed by 91 players. The PGA Championship, set for May 14-17, and the US Open, scheduled for June 18-21, are the next majors.
The PGA Tour will head to South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, where Justin Thomas will defend his title. The next men's major, the PGA Championship, will take place from May 14-17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania.
