QPR and Bristol City Play to a Goalless Draw

QPR and Bristol City extended their unbeaten streaks with a 0-0 draw at Loftus Road. The Robins have not lost since Roy Hodgson took over as interim manager, having won their first two games under his leadership. Meanwhile, QPR remain unbeaten in five matches and welcomed back Rumarn Burrell, who made his return as a substitute after over three months out. Bristol City created more scoring opportunities in the first half, with Scott Twine's half-volley being their best chance. QPR's goalkeeper, Joe Walsh, made several key saves, including a deflected effort from Emil Riis and a loose ball that could have been turned in. At the other end, Kieran Morgan's shot went wide, Richard Kone's header was saved by City's goalkeeper Radek Vitek, and Noah Eile almost scored an own goal. After the break, Walsh pushed away another shot from Twine, and Paul Smyth sliced a shot wide. QPR head coach Julien Stephan made changes to his forward line, bringing on Burrell and Daniel Bennie, but they were unable to create clear-cut chances. Burrell made a significant impact after joining from Burton last summer, scoring 10 goals before suffering a hamstring injury in January. His return was met with a warm reception from the home fans, but he was unable to make an immediate impact as Bristol City defended well. The visitors have kept back-to-back clean sheets under Hodgson and look more solid and organized. Both teams worked hard, but there were no notable chances in the closing stages. The lack of quality was evident in stoppage time when Tomi Horvat over-hit a pass, allowing Walsh to collect. QPR's Julien Stephan said, 'The season is not over, and I think the players showed that in their effort today.' Bristol City's Roy Hodgson added, 'I thought the teams canceled each other out, but we were more adventurous in the second half and had some chances.'
